Talk to the right people
As our events are always popular, from time to time you may want to ask the organiser for some assistance in making an introduction if there is someone you would really like to talk to.
Before you do, some pointers: in short, don’t push. We always stress that networking is more like farming than hunting. You will do better business if you build relationships. Therefore, we ask that you have a solid reason to ask for an introduction, other than selling.
For example, you might intend to ask the member to participate in a blog post, or ask them for an opinion, invite them to a workshop, perhaps to speak at an event, etc.
The next step is to ask the event organiser to facilitate a face-2-face introduction. If that’s not possible at the event you’re attending, we can try at the next.
Otherwise, an effective way to build a connection can be to follow your prospect on platforms such as LinkedIn, offering comments on their interactions, etc. You are getting to know the person, they are getting to know you and you are improving the odds of achieving your ultimate goal.
