    During this difficult time, a lot of people are sitting at home and playing their part to flatten the curve. From working from home to watching television and enjoying pay by phone casino, these activities are actually helping. Most businesses have had to shut their doors during this time. But despite a dip in sales, there are still brands out there that want to help during the pandemic. This should not go unnoticed. Here are five British brands that are giving back during COVID-19.


    Kurt Geiger

    Kurt Geiger is another British brand that is making headlines for their help during the coronavirus. During the pandemic, NHS workers are entitled to a 50 percent discount for a whole year. They can shop and receive everything for half the price. A lot of staff are also doing charitable work to help, as well as giving vouchers to staff that are working in critical care departments. The CEO of Kurt Geiger has also suspended his salary while the stores are closed.

    Burberry 

    Fashion giants Burberry are making sure that they are playing their part to help during COVID-19. In particular, they have committed to delivering 100,000 surgical masks in order to protect NHS workers when they are doing their job. This is very helpful due to the current shortages in the country. In addition, they are converting their factories in Yorkshire in order to help create gowns and masks for patients that are currently in hospital. This is not the only thing they are doing. They are also providing funds for research purposes and helping to find a vaccine at the University of Oxford.

    Alighieri

    Alighieri is a jewellery brand that is based in London and they are doing their bit to help during the coronavirus pandemic. They are choosing to donate 20 per cent of their proceeds to Trussell Trust. This is a charity that helps to support food banks across the country and feed the nation when they are in need. Indeed, a lot of families are going through tough times and food banks are in demand. This is going to help the UK during this difficult time.

    Grenson Shoes

    Grenson Shoes is another British brand that has made sure that NHS workers and their hard work does not go unnoticed. Every day, they are asking the general public to nominate their NHS hero. This can be done on Instagram. The company will then select one person every day to receive a free pair of their shoes to enjoy. This small gesture can make somebody’s day that is nominated.

    Barbour

    Last but not least is Barbour. This British heritage brand are world famous for designing stylish and functional wax jackets and other clothing. They were known to help during both of the world wars and this means they were always going to help during coronavirus. Indeed, they are converting their factories and helping to make protective gowns for the NHS. This is going to really help with the shortages.
