Lawyers from a leading City of London law firm attended a landmark UK-Polish conference earlier this week.
This was the second annual Belvidere Forum and the first to take place in the UK, the previous conference having taken place last year at the Belweder (Belvedere) Palace in Warsaw. The theme for the meeting at the Mansion House was ‘The UK and Poland in a Changing Europe: Coming Together or Moving apart?’.
Around 250 participants with strong UK-Polish links from business, academia, politics, culture and media attended the event, where they discussed matters including foreign affairs, history, migration, global trade, technological innovation and engagement in civil society.
Kate Boguslawska, a Partner at Carter Lemon Camerons LLP said: “The relationship between Poland and the UK is enormously important for both countries, with around 1 million Poles currently living in the UK.
“This was a valuable opportunity for discussion between civil society representatives from both countries, which is vital in order to maintain and strengthen this relationship.
“The participants clearly found this a useful event and it is encouraging to have the backing of both governments in this initiative.”
