Poland takes fourth place in the EU when it comes to the size of the employment in the commercial real estate sector, according to estimates by the Polish Council of Shopping Centers (PRCH) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Large and medium-sized shopping centers in Poland hire between 1,000 to 2,000 people on average.

Currently, there are 456 shopping centers in Poland, around 60 centers less than in Spain and nearly 400 less than in Italy, but the employment here is still higher. This discrepancy in employment may be the result of Spain and Italy’s economic situation as well as the limitations related to trading on Sundays, Radosłw Knap, the head of PRCH pointed out.
